ASIC Manufactures: New Kids on the Block
ePIC Blockchain and DesiweMiner providing highly needed competition
Last week I visited Mining Disrupt Miami. The largest Bitcoin Mining Expo in the world. At the trade show I ran into two mining machines manufacturers that might provide some competition to Bitmain, MicroBT and Canaan. In this article I will look at the features & specs of the miners produced by ePIC Blockchain and DesiweMiner.
ePIC BlockMiner Model 520i
ePIC BlockMiner Model 740a
DesiweMiner K10Pro
DesiweMiner K10Ultra
DesiweMiner K10Ultra Normal Mode: 173T | 20.6 J/TH
DesiweMiner K10Ultra SmartBoost: 212T | 22.3 J/TH
NEW hosting capacity available! Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) 1 unit in case you buy MicroBT WhatsMiner M30S++ 108TH and/or Bitmain S19XP 141TH through us. MOQ 10 units for used machines or ASICs purchased elsewhere. For more details, please reach out to nicosmid@digitalminingsolutions.tech or book a call:
ePIC BlockMiner Model 520i
Hashrate: 112 TH/s
Power: 3700 Watt
Efficiency: 33 J/TH ± 5%
Max Input Power: 5000 Watt
The ePIC BlockMiner model 520i is designed in North America. This miner is built in the traditional Bitcoin miner form factor. Current generation features Intel Blockscale chips. The second gen machines will have different chips because Intel discontinues its chip production.
The machine is air-cooled but immersion ready. It does not have stickers that need to be removed when dunking the miner in oil. The 520i has an ePIC Universal Mining Control (UMC) board and firmware allowing for dynamic tuning to modulate frequency and voltage in real-time to meet curtailment requirements. This is complemented by an overclocking headroom of up to ~50% and powerful 5000 Watt power supply.

ePIC BlockMiner Model 740a
Hashrate: 150 TH/s
Power: 4900 Watt
Efficiency: 33 J/TH ± 5%
Max Input Power: 6000 Watt
The ePIC BlockMiner Model 740a is an air-cooled machine with a 4U form factor. This design is optimized for deployment in data centers. Like the 520i, the 740a also has Intel Blockscale chips.
The Model 740a also has the ePIC UMC board and firmware technology, ensuring efficiency with precise frequency and voltage modulation. The miner also offers custom firmware and APIs for fleet-specific considerations & management software.

DesiweMiner K10Pro
Hashrate: 170 TH/s
Power: 3825 Watt
Efficiency: 22.5 J/TH ±5%
Max Input Power: 5000 Watt
The K10 series is a second generation miners produced by DesiweMiner. The fully customized chip design allows for best power ratio and yield using 8nm chips. The machine has a heat dissipation solution with heat pipes.
The machine has two features that makes it stand out. The first is what DesiweMiner calls the smart boost. By using the integrated automatic hashrate adjustment you can overclock the K10Pro to 200 TH/s using ~4900 watts. This means the machine runs at 24.5 J/TH, loosing 2 J/TH in efficiency. The second feature is the 0.96"OLED, 128 x 64 display on the control board. This display shows information like the IP address, model, power usage, hashrate and efficiency.
DesiweMiner K10Ultra
Hashrate: 170 TH/s
Power: 3485 Watt
Efficiency: 20.5 J/TH ±5%
Max Input Power: 5000 Watt
The K10Ultra has the same hashrate output as the Pro but uses less power (~340 watts). The efficiency is 20.5 J/TH instead of the 22.5 J/TH of the Pro version. Making the Ultra direct competitor to the XP. With the smart boost this model can reach 200TH/s at around 4400 Watts (22 J/TH).
DesiweMiner announced on their website that they are launching the DesiweMiner K10Hydro soon.
DesiweMiner K10Ultra Normal Mode: 173T | 20.6 J/TH
DesiweMiner K10Ultra SmartBoost: 212T | 22.3 J/TH
At the Bitcoin 2023 three new models were announced by MicroBT. This year an air-cooled, hydro-cooled and the immersion-cooled next generation WhatsMiner will hit the market. All three models directly compete with Bitmain’s Antminer S19 XP series on hashrate output and efficiency. Would you like to know more about these new ASIC? Check out this article.
